><p>Lace-making is an <strong>ancient craft<\/strong> still practiced today in Prettau.<\/p>\n<p>After the closure of the mine, the people of Prettau had to look for a <strong>new source of income.<\/strong> So, some women were sent to Vienna to learn the art of lace-making. As a result, a lace-making school was founded, and the women taught this craft to the children. In 1893, the lace was presented <strong>at the Tyrolean State Exhibition,<\/strong> and orders came in from many countries.
