Located at the entrance to the Rieserferner-Ahrn Nature Park, the waterfalls are a popular destination for families, nature lovers and hiking enthusiasts alike.
Hike Along the St. Francis Trail
A Varied Hiking Trail for All Ages
The trail to the Reinbach Waterfalls follows the picturesque St. Francis Trail, a contemplative walking path featuring several stations dedicated to the life of St. Francis of Assisi.
The first waterfall can be reached after approximately 20 minutes of walking. Continuing along the trail, you’ll arrive at the second waterfall after about 40 minutes and the third after around 55 minutes. Those wishing to extend their hike can continue to the St. Francis and St. Clare Chapel, which can be reached in approximately 75 minutes.
The first section of the trail is also suitable for families with pushchairs and young children.

Useful Tips for Your Visit
The Reinbach Waterfalls are easy to reach by public transport. Take bus line 450 to the bus station in Sand in Taufers and then change to Citybus 455, getting off at the “Cascade” stop. From there, it is a pleasant 15–20-minute walk to the start of the trail.
Walking times are approximately 20 minutes to the first waterfall, 40 minutes to the second and 55 minutes to the third waterfall.
In addition to the spectacular hike, the area offers several other highlights. One of the most popular attractions is the Waterfall Fly-Line. Starting from the third waterfall, you glide silently through the forest and over the stream on an 850-metre route, reaching the area near the first waterfall in about 5½ minutes. It’s a unique adventure for the whole family.
At the trailhead, the Waterfall Bar is the perfect place to take a relaxing break. Visitors can enjoy regional dishes, light snacks and refreshing drinks before or after their hike. Parking facilities and the entrance to the St. Francis Trail are also conveniently located nearby.
