World’s famous “South Tyrolean Speck”

One of the many highlights at the farmer’s market

South Tyrolean speck is a world famous specialty deeply rooted in the tradition and culture of South Tyrol. The speck is made from high-quality pork, carefully selected and refined according to ancient recipes. The preparation begins with a special blend of spices such as salt, pepper, garlic, rosemary, and juniper berries, which give the speck its unmistakable flavor. After seasoning, the meat is air-dried for several weeks and then lightly smoked, a process that imparts the speck its unique aroma and tender texture.

The artisanal process and natural ingredients make South Tyrolean speck one of the tastiest and most authentic specialties of the region. With its traditional preparation, it remains an unique symbol of South Tyrolean cuisine.
